Austen Hoogen, Producer/Director

Austen has been an independent filmmaker for 15 years, over which he has made numerous short films, music videos and documentary shorts. He holds a degree in Film & Video Communications from the celebrated Seattle Central Community College. He was a producer and editor for Seattle Community College Television on two half-hour programs: Seattle Arts Link and Synopsis. His last documentary film, Facing a New Age—about aging and ageism in the gay community—was a huge success despite severe time and budgetary limitations.

Austen currently lives in Los Angeles where he's been working for Discovery Channel, Showtime and independent producers on a variety of film and television productions. He writes for fun, for his own narrative and documentary projects and often to unleash strong criticisms on social and political issues.
